Herc's Destruction

Postby JtotheMurphy » Wed Nov 12, 2003 1:34 pm

I really wish I would have taken one last car ride over to Dorney this past weekend when I was home from school. Although I didn't like the coaster that much, I still found it breathtaking every time I would drive to work in the summer. All the construction activity should make for some interesting discussion over these winters months however, and that I can't complain about.

To post the pictures, please email them either to myself or dptalon135. Also it would be neat to tell the PR director about DPO and maybe he will give us the video :D . I hope you can keep getting pics as the de-construction and construction goes on.

I highly doubt Dorney would post the video of this on their webpage. I'd like to see it though.

Judging by the way almost all traces of Hercules were removed from the official site within days of the announcement of it's removal, I'd be very surprised if it were posted on the official site... unless it were part of a new page following the construction of the new ride. I can't see that coming this early, but hey, works for me  . Like sfnitro230 said, photos can't be posted directly to the message boards, but you can use something like webshots, or email them to me... I'd gladly put them up on the site and credit them to you.

Man, I'd pay good money to see the video of the lift falling over. That'd be just too funny.

Any word on whether pics will show up or not?

A thank you to those who have provided the pictures, and those who've worked to get them online for us to see.

The squares of concrete that are missing in the photos that Zuckuss provided, were those planters? Interesting that they were removed.

Yeah I too was shocked when I saw the pics. The entire area was bereft. I didn't even recongnize the space. This leads me to believe that the new coaster will occupy an area more toward meteor rather than hercules which occupied the hillside more. God only knows what will happen , I've been shocked to see the things that Cf has done so far so I won't even guess anymore about things.

Seeing the area in this new light starts to give me a better idea as to how the new coaster will be situated. I think that there will be little use of the hillside for the new ride, rather it will be positioned more towards Meteor and the other amenities.
I almost wish the park didn't say anything about a new coaster, because now I am just salivating for the slightest info on it. Maybe zuckuss wants to give us a teaser or two........(please)
