2003 Attendance

Postby MJHammer1 » Tue Nov 11, 2003 4:05 pm

Cedar Fair provided the attendance figures for the seasonal parks during their 3rd Quarter call:

CP • +3%, 3.3 Million
VF • +7%, 1.1 Million
MiA • +10%, 480K
DP • -10%, 1.4 Million
WoF • -6%, 880K

Looks like DP lost about 200K, but it's nice that even when they have an "off" year they're still at 1.4 million. The weather was really insane this summer, anyway.

Yeah, still with that said, I was only expecting it to drop about 100,000. I think next year will be much much better. With more normal weather patterns, the water park should pick up nicely. And with a rumored new flat to the dry side and bigger Halloweekends and expanded operating schedule, I think it'll be a much better year.

Yeah, the early 2000's seemed like a lot of additions. 2000 Wild Mouse and Planet Snoopy, 2001 Talon, 2002 Meteor, 2003 10 new slides for WWK, 2004 Revolution and 2005 Hydra. I guess 2006 and 2007 were ok too with the 2nd wavepool and Aquaracer in 2007. It all went downhill after that to the point now where the park is getting either no new ride or a used ride that breaks down so often you are afraid to go to it.

Dorney went from number 3 to probably 8th in pecking order.
