Haunt 2012

Postby dorneyfan1991 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 9:18 am

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about haunt for this year. I heard they are going to have a total of 14 houses and they are going to have a haunt that is 13000 square feet. Does anyone know any more detail?

Are they going to make Dinosaurs Alive a Haunt attraction?

^^^Backwoods is obviously no more. A few weeks ago I was speaking with one of the Dinosaurs Alive! employees and they told me that DP had something in mind for that area during HAUNT. I am not sure how credible that source is but it is all that I have.

Check out some of your favorite Haunt Monsters at Musikfest on August 4th and 11th down at VolksPlatz! We will be raffling off some Haunt swag and maybe a few passes to Haunt V!

If you are interested in auditioning for Halloween Haunt or know someone that is interested please send me a PM and I will send you information!

I know the 13,000 square feet is going to be where Club Blood is located.

You should post this on Dorney's facebook page. I know a lot of people would stop by if they knew you would be out there.

I have been going to the Haunt for many years, but have only gone on Saturdays. I want to know how are Friday nights and Sunday nights? I have noticed that by mid to late October it gets busier as Halloween gets closer.

Friday nights and Sunday nights are usually not crowded. The only bad thing is that operations can be questionable. Last year I went on a Friday night and Talon, Hydra and Steel Force were all running 1 train causing 30+ minute waits and I heard from someone else on another Friday night last year they saw the same thing. Maybe it was weather related though (since the Friday night I was there it was in the mid 40's).

The first few weekends will probably be very empty. I went on the first Friday night of Haunt in 2010 and there were no waits for anything. The only bad thing was it was hot out, with it in the 90s when the park opened at 6 so it felt more like a day for WWK than Haunt (and as expected, no water rides on the ride side were open).

How many think that Dino land is a bust? I mean if it were a buck they would probably make more $$$$ than $5 and leaving people with a bad taste in their mouths. To me it was a waste of real estate. I have to believe it will beincorporated into the haunt in some way....

It seems like there are some people at Dinosaurs Alive when I see it from Steel Force but it never looks too crowded. The free "sample" dinosaurs they have all over the park are good enough for me. I'm just glad we didn't lose a ride for it like Cedar Point lost Paddle Wheel Excursions and it is rumored Valleyfair is going to lose their antique cars for Dinosaurs Alive.

If they do make it a Haunt attraction, it should be interesting to see and hopefully not an upcharge then.

I don't think they will make it a Haunt attraction. They have no lights back there, that's why it closes at dusk. I do think they should use it for Boo Blast, the kids would love it.

I didn't think about there being no lights there.

The fenced in area near Revolution that was the graveyard (I think) last year has all the tomb stones out lined against one of the fences.

Here's the new stuff! The display is up at the park. Full story here - but Club Blood, Backwoods, and Terror Square are no more.
