Dorney Park 2013

Postby Dorneyman27 » Sun Aug 05, 2012 2:35 pm

It's almost the end of summer and I am already thinking about what Dorney Park could be getting in 2013. They have been getting something new every year. I don't think they are getting anything big, because we would have already heard about it. Has anyone heard any rumors yet? What do all of you think Cedar Fair and Dorney Park will add in 2013?

On another site I heard a rumor of something for WWK. It makes sense since the last addition was Aqua Racer 5 years ago.

All kidding aside, I would have preferred that to Stinger this year. I remember riding the one the Six Flags Great Adventure had & it wasn't half bad. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about getting stuck all the time.

I'm actually getting a bit nervous that no strong rumors have appeared for next year, the park has not gone to South Whitehall Township for anything (that I've seen, anyway) and I can't see any markings in the park at all.

Usually by this time of year at least one of the three would have happened, if not all of them. Granted a water park addition is smaller and could come later... I just hope we don't get a "general improvements" year! I can say with certainty after writing that history of DP's additions under Cedar Fair that the last year like that was 1996. I'd say after that comes 2007 with Aquaracer and not much else.

If anyone's heard anything but doesn't want to post, PM me! :P

I hate "general improvements" Which typicaly means additional seatbelts or new trash cans. Couldn't believe they added belts to the ferris wheel this year....when I was in line for the first time a few weeks ago and overheard the attendants saying "please fasten your seatbelts" I gauked out loud and bitched about it in front of the attendants and others in line.

To me "general improvements" would mean a nice flat ride package and maybee some new restaurants too.

There was some sort of work going on down by the Hercules footers and the dam. The plates on the trucks were from Ohio so I wonder what is going on. I doubt anything huge, but that gives me hope. We sat down by the lake and watched the coasters a little bit earlier. I would love to see them utilize that area of the park. I find it very relaxing. They need to do something down there to take advantage of how nice it is.

Isn't there a B&M manufacturing plant in Ohio? I know it's unlikely but I can hope right?

Don't they have to do work on the dam all the time? Also I'm pretty sure they're never going to build outside the perimeter of Hydra down there to appease the neighbors.

I noticed a marked tree and a few stakes in the ground literally behind Dinosaurs Alive today. I'm not even sure if that's DP property, so I'm writing it off as nothing. Didn't see any other signs of anything in the park today as far as new stuff goes.

Maybe there's something waterlogged from Six Flags in New Orleans that Dorney can get? They seem to try to get crappier and crappier rides each year, so it only makes sense.

^^^ Uh-oh. Is the monster coming out in you again?

I tend to agree with your post but I will still try to be the positive "Uncle Tom" that I am about Dorney.
2015... My year off from Dorney. C'mon Cedar Fair, you are losing me...
