Well folks, a new champion will be crowned yet again this year.

Presenting the Final Four!

Steel Force
Backwoods
Thunder Creek Mountain
Skooter Boats

The games will continue tomorrow (Friday 4/5) with an afternoon and evening matchup. The 2013 DPWWK Championship Game will be held sometime on Sunday evening (4/7).

I think that it's a good point to sit back and acknowledge these attractions for coming this far. As a new item this year, if anybody would like to write a small profile of each/any of the competitors, please feel free to do so in the thread. 8)

We didn't have any takers, so here goes:

STEEL FORCE
Defeated Stinger, Antique Carousel, Hydra, and Cedar Creek Cannonball
Being tall and fast are usually keys to success, and Steel Force used both to it's advantage on it's way to the Final Four. SF had arguably the toughest route to get here, facing tough competition, including the Cinderella Creek Cannonball in the Elite 8 round. Steel Force has always been in the mix, but has never gotten this deep into the tournament, and will be a formidable competitor.

BACKWOODS

Defeated Gold Mine, Death Trap, Bucket O' Blood, and Asylum
By going deep into last year's tournament after being the 16 seed, Backwood's stock rose sharply and found itself as a 1-seed in the ever-scary Southern division. By getting to this lofty level, it has proven that last year was not a freak accident. By employing a slashing style and surprise attack, Backwoods is looking to bury the competition and prove that it is the true terror of the tourney.

THUNDER CREEK MOUNTAIN
Defeated Whale Boats, Patriot's Plunge, White Water Landing, and Thunder Canyon
After a disappointing defeat in the finals last year, TCM is looking to make a splash this year and wash away the bitter memories that bubbled to the surface long into the offseason. When the tide starts to turn, look for TCM to employ the floater to sink the competition.

SKOOTER BOATS
Defeated Rocket Ships, Joker, Hercules, and Zephyr
The unquestioned dark horse in the Final Four, the Skooter Boats have somehow managed to navigate the treacherous waters of the hotly-contested Western Division. With a slow, methodical style, the Skooter Boats have managed to stay on-track by motoring past their competitors, including the backyard brawl against the Zephyr. By keeping their motors running, the Skooters hope that they have enough left in the tank to bring it full circle.

Well, after almost a month it all comes down to this....the 2013 DPWWK Championship Game! These two attractions couldn't be more different, yet their journey has brought them to this place to face off for the honor of claiming the Championship. Yes, it's been a long road, but we still have one final turn before we can bring it home.

For the Championship,

Well folks, as the crowd begins to filter out, and maintenance tries to get a grip on fishing all that confetti out of the creek, I think that its time to say an honest and heartfelt "thank you" to all who participated and/or followed along. This thing doesn't work without a lot of participation, and I thank everyone who helped to make it as fun for me, as (hopefully) it was for you too.

Thanks for taking part in the Journey of the Tourney for 2013, and I'll see you in the queue (as always, no line jumping!) 8)

Thanks for running the tournament

It's just too bad the ride still isn't at the park anymore :(
