It is entirely new. I drove by a couple of weeks ago & the entire top platform was removed. That is a new platform & new stairs.

The light up rings in the slide look really cool. I have seen videos on YouTube of other slides with lights in them in the past and it's nice to see Dorney getting something different that I don't think any other park in the area has.

I'm honestly impressed to see where some of the money is going to improve the waterpark. Water Works still looks untouched though...

Well, https://www.worldsoffun.com/things-to-do/fast-lane this is what Worlds of Fun did, so could it possibly be coming to Dorney as well, which would explain the new staircase?????

It looks like riptide refreshments has been renamed to Snakes Bits.
https://www.dorneypark.com/things-to-do/dining
The park has not yet changed the description for this food location, it still says "Located across from the entrance to Riptide Run in Wildwater Kingdom."
It seems the the Oasis is actually getting replaced (I have never seen more than three people in there at once, if it was even open; although I only go on slow days.) Dorney's website says it will be located "Located next to Cabana Rentals near Wildwater Cove." It also still describes it as a "pool bar" so either they are building a new pool, or this is another typo.

A pool bar would be great. Wasn't the previous one just a roped off section with a hut next to the Lillypads (RIP)?

The old Oasis used the old torpedo tubes splashdown pool. With the drinks being served from the hut out of the water, the pool was no longer serving a real purpose and was being a grandiose waste of space.

Another typo on the food location page, a Dippin' Dots location is still being listed as near riptide run.

Another thing the park has not yet updated on their website is the park map, --for that matter, neither has Carowinds witch opens on Saturday -- hopefully the map when finally updated will look like Kings Dominion's map.

I know I haven't posted/been around in awhile. I also haven't been to Dorney in a few years, however I want to say that I hope the Steel Force remains for a long while yet. I really hope I get to go ride it this year. I really miss it. It is my favorite coaster of all the ones I've ever been on.

After more reading I don't like the "fast pass" idea.

Whoever it was that said early in this thread that they miss the Joker, ME TOO! I loveddddd that thing.

in general I do not like fast lane. Actually, I do not like any premium reduced wait system -- I simply go on the slow days. Gate prices for an admission ticket, a fast lane wristband, plus parking costs about the same as a season pass. Why go for one day when you can go for many for the same price?

In defence of fast lane -- Why am I defending something I hate? -- people who use it tend to buy alot of food and souviniers making them very desireable coustomers. I must commend Cedar Fair for using a two line system instead of a virtual queue system like some parks. six flags. Paying to ride twice in a row. Really, how many ways can you annoy people who are waiting for the front row?

Fast Lane never seemed that bad at Dorney compared to some of the other parks in the chain since it seems like it's rare to see anyone using it. With some WWK attractions on Fast Lane Plus that might convince people to get it especially on those summer weekends when it is really crowded. Other than Platinum Flash Pass, I think Flash Pass is better for those not using it since they have to wait for a time to ride compared to Fast Lane where you have unlimited instant access to the Fast Lane entrances.

Here's a nice article with updates and lots of pictures on the WWK updates: http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2014/ ... -2014.html
Water Works will be getting updated! It's untouched as of now though.

Rumor has it that we're getting a GCI for 2015. However, I'm skeptical seeing that corporate always gives us something used from other CF parks.

On a side note, their really improving the food aspect of the park, not just for guests but us employees too! :D
