Great footage of lots of rides during 1979 and 1980 at DP...really captures it!

Those are some great videos. Some of the views don't even look like Dorney since so much has changed. I can't believe they had a street going through the park and it was strange to see the kiddie coaster with such a low fence and other rides like the kiddie boat ride had no fence at all. I could see that lasting about 5 seconds in today's society.

Yeah it certainly was different back then! Loved seeing the old rides that I remember. Those videos were before my time though, so it was interesting seeing the old carousel and zoo.

That's the park that I remember. I still look for the little pieces of that park when I'm there. It's just suggestions in some cases, but they are still there. The street was unique, and it was something that was tough to govern during the busy days. A policeman operated the actual "Stop/Go" sign, and everyone pretty much obeyed....honestly that wouldn't happen today.

Oh, Yoshi was talking about "no fences" on one of the rides...the rocketship ride (the one that swings around next to the coaster) had no restraints whatsoever....just a bar...and no doors either. It may have had a chain or something where you entered, but nothing else

No doors on the Zephyr either and notice the seats in the locomotive car were still open. Thanks for posting those, great stuff. It's a bit before my time as my earliest memories are probably around 85' or so...but I do remember a lot of that good old stuff.

One of my favorite things use to be how nice the creek looked at night with all the lights they had strung up down the center and the lights along the shore too. And then with the Water Scooters and the light house and all. The park was something special back then.
