The pump building is being removed, not built.

I see Food Fest as a wall to expanding out into the bottom corner of the parking lot.

I tried to find the legal ad that the article mentioned, but atlas I could not find it. If anyone can find it and post a link, it will be greatly appreciated.
The Township's planning board schedule is, at the moment, blank. Hopefully they will get that fixed.

The park cannot expand out into the parking lot unless if new parking can be put in elsewhere. The park has days where they are running out of overflow parking.

New for 2016

Mike Fehnel returns as President of DP

Brad Marcy leaves for Carowinds

Strange for the whole President swap, I wonder if Mike Fehnel couldn't get the job done at Carowinds, with the upcoming expansion for the water park and the expected expansion beyond next year.

Thunderhawk's new trains. If they are the new PTC 360 trains, every seat is a wheel seat but hopefully they will ride smoother. I never found Thunderhawk that rough but preferred the non wheel seats on the old trains for a slightly smoother ride.

As posted by PTC themselves, they are not PTC 360 trains.

VR headsets will likely be added to another coaster at one of the 11 locations in the Cedar Fair amusement park chain, said CEO Matt Ouimet during a recent interview.

“It’ll be a different type of coaster because we want to see about the different types of physics,” Ouimet said.

Test runs are expected to start soon on the unnamed second coaster that will feature a different virtual backstory than Thunder Run.

Does anyone think that this could be what Dorney is getting for 2016? It would go nicely with the new trains Thunderhawk is receiving.

Am I the only one kinda not happy about them repainting it bright white? I was really loving the natural wood look and was hoping the entire thing would eventually look natural (which I think was the original plan a few years back, maybe I am wrong). The white is just too hard to take care of and looks terrible when it starts peeling. I'm sure it will look beautiful at first, but I was really hoping they would go with the all natural wood look.

If it were a new woodie, I would agree that I like the plain wood look. However, classic wooden coasters should be painted. Anyway, if they ever get around to building that GCI, we would not want them to look too similar, now would we?
On a sadder note, I may have ridden my last ride on my beloved Coaster, Mike Fehnel confirmed my deepest fear regarding the fifth picture from the bottom on PTC's site, Thunderhawk has been stripped of the great honour of running with buzzbars. https://twitter.com/mikefehnel/status/690641140962430977

There are now only seven coasters running in the state with buzzbars. At least there is still several operating without seatbelts, one operating with a mechanical single position lapbar, two with fixed position lapbars, and one with no restraints at all.

I'm really glad that T-Hawk is finally getting some attention, she really needed some for about the last 8 years. I understand the white and the apparent historical reference in the color choice, but if I would have had my 'druthers, I would have hoped for another coat of that brash yellow that she wore when I got to know her in the 70's. To me, white is the color of the Comet in HP, Yellow is "the coaster". The new trains look nice, but I too will be sorry to see (and hear) the buzz bars go away. That's the price of improvement I guess...I'll take it over the alternative.

What's happening at the park lately? People going in for training and interviews must be seeing something by now? Are the new trains on Thunderhawk yet? How is the new paint job looking? Any demo work on the Speedway yet? The last I went by the lower checkpoint about a month ago, the Haunt decorations were still out.

Thinking it's about time I take a spin by again soon....

I was buy and saw the guys painting. Just shook my head. First, they should have let it go grey...far less maintenance. Second the dude was painting and did not appear to even have a security belt/harness on...maybe I just could not see it...
