Dorney Park Recreation for RCT2

Postby DorneyDante » Mon Sep 01, 2003 7:16 pm

Well, my DP recreation is coming along slowly but surely. I have added some things to the recreation, mainly a parking lot, thunder canyon, camp snoopy and the carousel/main midway. I still have a long way to go. I have finished all the rollercoasters and am now paying attention to the fun stuff: all the little details and scenery in the park. Tell me what u think. The latest additions are mostly the 6 pics on the bottom of the 1st page and all the ones on the 2nd page.

Looks like a good start. I'm working on a Dorney recreation as well... I should take some shots of it  .

Yeah, you should post your screenshots. Would be interesting to see how you made some of your attractions.

Its interesting to see how 2 people working on the same recreation can have 2 different perspectives on it. Here are my likes and dislikes.

Likes-How you made skyscraper. From a distance that looks really right on. I was struggling with my recreation of it. Show an upclose pic so I can see how you did that. I also liked the very last stretch of track on Talon, looks very realistic.

Dislikes-Steel force should be red. The zero-g on Talon looks rather high. Thunderhawk to me is more white colored.

Other than that it looks decent, you have a long way to go too. Here are some things that I am using to help me with my recreation. First, go to mapquest and get a good aerial shot, that will really help you with laying the park out. I also find the big park map that they give you as you enter the park very helpful to use. Here are some aerial shots that I have used to help me also:

There are also some aerial pics on http://www.ridezone.com. Go under Talon's construction pics. Hope that helps.

Uh, Steel Force *is* red there. I think Thunderhawk is like halfway between the plain wood color and white... I went the wood color direction.

SkyScraper close up added.

Thanks for the other comments! Yes, I'm using all those same resources, as well as a good memory... I purposely check out certain things each time I'm at the park to get them spot on in my recreation as well.

Dorney Dante, your Talon looks kind of awkward to me. I remember there being a dip below the ground at the entrance to the immelman, like a ditch. Also, the last helix is on the ground, not in the air. Otherwise, everything else looks good.

I'm just gonna make a new post so everyone knows that new pics are up.

Greetings all, last time I posted my pics, I was ready to add all the scenery to my park. I have completed most of the upper midway and Talon's scenery. I have just started to get to the lower midway scenery. Here are some updated shots. Hope you like. Let me know what you think. http://community.webshots.com/user/partykiddante

I love the park outlay. It's really neat what you can do with Rollercoaster Tycoon 2! Will there be an link where I can download your park senerio when it's all finished? Can Dorneyonline.com make a link for that?

WARNING:http://www.webshots.com/ website has been down since 2 weeks and still not working properly. I want to see your newest pictures, but I can't get into the network of the site.I just want to let you know.

We currently do not support the uploading or attaching of image or RCT files. In the future, if we have a RCT section, we may decide to support this.

UPDATED PICTURES!

I have updated my albums and added a Hercules dedication album. The old pics are mixed w/ the new so you will have to weed through them. Feel free to comment.
