Hershey sells off Dutch Wonderland

Really bummed about this one. Living a little over an hour from Dutch and Hershey and having kids has made the combo season passes a great value. Hope we can still get passes for 2011 yet at least since I'm sure many folks have already renewed at this point.

According to both websites, they are still available for purchase. Although, I would not wait to long as they may stop selling the combo pass because of the sale. Just because people bought them before doesn't mean they have to keep offering them. They can consider it a promo offer.

I was there on Monday to go to Chocolate World and ZooAmerica so I stopped in the season pass office to ask, and they told me nothing will change for 2011, but after that they don't know. I want to buy them ASAP but need to make sure I can afford it first.

I must have been living under a rock b/c I didn't even know that HP had owned DW. Well, I have not had much interest in DW for over 15 years anyhow so I guess that is why. Regardless this might be sad news for some...

Indeed...could have a bright side though....perhaps with free'ed up capital Hershey could be in the market to buy another nearby park :)

If you mean Dorney, wouldn't that be a problem since they are direct competitors of each other? I could see Hershey not wanting to put anything too great into Dorney that would be better than a ride at Hershey.
