SKYRUSH.

Postby IhaveSonar » Tue Aug 02, 2011 11:21 am

Wow. I watched the video live on hersheypark's website. WOW. It's definitely Intamin, but it has four-across seats, and the two outermost seats hang out over the track, like a wing-rider! The first ever wing-rider hypercoaster will be in Pennsylvania next year.

The layout will be about 3600 feet long, 200 feet tall, weave in around around Comet Hollow, and interact with Comet, Superdooperlooper, and Great Bear.

All I can say is, wow. Bizarro at SFNE may have some SERIOUS competition for best steel coaster in the world next year. :D

I would agree with you but your stats are wrong.
It's only going to be 3,600'.... way to short to compete with even the top 3 hypers. Hershey needs to start building longer coasters. I'm not saying it's not going to be fantastic but come on! Look at these statistics:
Steel Force: 5600'
Bizzaro: 5400'
Apollo's Chariot: 4882'
The only hyper coaster that I could find that's under 4000' is Phantoms Revenge which could've been the best if it were longer. Again I think it looks very good but just way too short.

It seems as if this will be very forceful though. I really like Phantom, probably one of my top 5. What it doesn't have in length it should have in intensity, much like Storm Runner.

Wikipedia says it's only 3,600 feet long, and the ride duration is only 63 seconds.

I think it will be impressive. It will be going through the airtime hills at close to 70 mph. It does not have any large hills after the first drop so it will not let up. It should be a intense rush like Storm Runner.

Here's hoping it's as good as it looks! I do wish it were a bit longer too, and I think Hershey could really use a longer ride coaster wise. However, I must admit, one of my absolute favorite coasters is Storm Runner, and while it's a fairly short ride, I love it!

Another half a coaster for Hershey...looks like a decent, short ride.

Real dissapointment though...WAY too short for a hyper...I thought Intimidator 305 was short, but I just checked and it's 5100'...imagine 3600.

A Hyper should at least be a Hyper even by the standards of most of the older Arrow/Morgan rides. And Hershey draws enough of a crowd and money they could have easily done a Giga....finally someone could have outdone MF. Not too many parks draw the crowds to justify something like MF, but Hershey certainly does. I know they're short on space, but I'd trade in all 3 of they're Intamins for something like Millenium.

At least with rides like Nitro and Steel Force it is over a minute from the end of the lift hill to the final brake run. I'm sure the coaster will still be good but most of the coasters at Hershey are too short and this coaster is going to be stacking like crazy with the different seating. They even stack Fahrenheit and that's with only 12 seats per train.

I really thought they would have a three train hyper that was a lot longer...

They could've added some mid course brakes so they could have three trains, thrown in a helix, maybe two more bunny hops, and there ya go.

The winged outer seats bring the ride to a whole new dimension. Can't wait to ride it 2012!
