Missing summer activities badly!

Postby rotlex » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:01 pm

Man, it's only January 3rd, and I'm missing summer big time. I'm really feeling the need to feed my amusement park addiction, and already can't wait for Dorney or Hershey to open! At least Spring in the Park at Hershey is early April this year.

I really, really hate the stretch of time from now until the end of March. Makes me wish I would have planned a mid winter vacation to somewhere warm. With roller coasters, LOL. Dorney posted they open "in just 115 days" from today on Facebook. MAN that seems a LONG time away!!!!

Great Adventure opens April 5th as well. Other Six Flags parks are getting Holiday In The Park for 2012 but not Great Adventure. It would have been nice to ride coasters in December especially since they would have no problem running the 2 indoor coasters.

Less than 3 months to go

Yoshi,

I haven't been to GA in a VERY long time. (Like maybe 15+ years). Been waiting for my daughter, now 9 to finally be tall enough to enjoy everything there. In you opinion, and anyone in here who might go there regularly, is April-May a fairly safe time crowd wise to visit? I've heard summer is horrible, but again, Dorney gets pretty nuts June through August too!

Thanks.

It really depends on if there is an event going on like Scout Weekend, the event list is here:

Normally on a non event and non concert day, the crowds aren't too bad in April or May especially if you go on a Sunday. I typically go on the Sunday of opening weekend and it is almost always low crowds. This year opening day is on a Thursday so I expect it to be empty then too since NYC schools are still in session that day.
