Opening Day 2010- Steel Force Stuck on the Lift Hill

Postby modernphoenixv2 » Sat May 01, 2010 2:38 pm

Not a good sign...

When it WAS running, it was half-empty.Image
(Also notice the rust and terrible fading of the track)

Possessed (Voodoo) not running either and I looked, but I was unable to see all that new paint people told us we'd see. The park looked kind of run-down overall, not to be nasty. I have my season pass and like I said, it won't deter me from coming. My concern is that it will drive low attendence numbers, which in turn, will cause CF management to allocate less money to the park for upkeep and renovations.

I did appreciate the bike security.Image

Demon Drop seems to be far behind schedule- Image Image

I seriously doubt demon drop will be opening anywhere near to when it was supposed to, they ran into all kinds of issues down there with water and footings and god knows what else, that'll teach you to build in a flood plain

Steel Force was stuck three times. Once everyone had to get out and walk down the hill. Possessed was closed. Talon, Steel Force, and Hang Time were broken down for more than 30 minutes. Hydra only had one train running, and a long line around 5:30 p.m. Steel Force had a 15 minute wait around 6:30 p.m.

1. Steel Force does need a new painting
2. I dout Demon Drop will be opening until the end of July at this point.
3. What was wrong with Possessed?

Sounds like it wasn't a good opening day

I am kind of annoyed to hear 1 train on Hydra unless the 2nd train had a problem or was not ready. They had 1 trains running on closing day last year causing a huge line for Steel Force and was hoping that would not become the standard as Dorney used to always run 2 trains on Hydra and Talon and at least 2 on Steel Force and if 1 trains are being run as the standard thing it is going to cause longer lines.

Hopefully Demon Drop won't open too late into the summer

Dorney never runs one train just because they feel like it on the big three coasters. If they are running one, it is either because of a maintenance issue or rain.

I just figured it might be something they were trying since on closing day last year Steel Force was running 1 train but I was told once Haunt started they added the 2nd train. I'm glad to hear that was probably an isolated case and that 2 trains running is still the standard.

did anyone really expect Voodoo to work all the time? If so then I suppose you will be disapointed when the Cedar Point Poo also fails to be dropping patrons much of the time.

What ticks me off is the lack of respect for the decent rides....the ones you would want to preserve. Fix the paint on your flagship SF for heavans sake. Have they painted TH yet? Its a big job I know but are they just planning to let it rot away and then say they need to tear it down? Hell, I'd rather see a year with no new additons but some preservation.
