New General Manager

Postby coasterluver » Mon Jul 14, 2014 7:32 pm

So it was confirmed to me that the new General Manager of Dorney Park is Brad Marcy, formerly the head of Revenue Operations. I heard that Mike was moved to Carowinds, but that I am not sure of.

Carowinds. The home of the dreaded windseeker. That was the best choice they made (Dorney) not bringing in that dreaded ride!

Maybe this GM will make some positive strides in utilizing wasted space!

Can you confirm this? I have not found anything on Cedar Fair's website, as well as both park's websites, facebook and twitter pages, as well as Mike Fehnel's twitter page. Until I see some sort of announcement, I will put this into the wild rumor pile. If this is true, I will miss Mike (I have not gotten to meet him properly yet, bet every encounter so far has been good. The folks at Michigan's adventure [where he worked previously] had nothing but good things to say about him.)

I could not find a twitter page for the current GM of Carowinds. From their last press release it seems there current GM is Bart Kinzel (Closely related to Dick Kinzel formerly CEO of Cedar Fair.)

^ I can confirm it. Mike was moved to Carowinds, Brad Marcy is the new DP VP & GM. For further confirmation, check out who favorited my Tweet about the change back on July 8th.

We will miss Mike, but that's a fantastic opportunity for him! I met Brad and he's a great guy with a lot of Cedar Fair experience. Hopefully great things are in the works for the park.

Mike
