What general improvements are needed for 2015?

Postby jscll » Sat Oct 04, 2014 11:25 pm

Notwhithstanding any potential change in the attraction lineup for next year (rides, slides, pools, shows, ect.), what general improvements are needed/we want for 2015?

A few items to start the list:
  1. The Whip's seats need reupholstering.
  2. Runaway river needs tile work done, as well as other bits of TLC.
  3. Thunder canyon's bridge needs a more comfortable surface.
  4. White Water Landing's queue line should be rerouted to pass under the upper flume so the entrance is next to the exit bridge (with paralleling fastlane). The current fastlane entrance should become the special access entrance.
  5. The swimwear zone should be extended to WWL's exit/purposed entrance.
  6. WWL should receive new bins to accommodate four boats.
  7. Colored lights should be re-added to the trout pond's fountain.
  8. Colored lights should be added along the creak such as to be visible from the Zephyr, at least the section of track near the road rally.
  9. Revolution's seat belts should be removed.
  10. Thunderhawk should get its sign back on its lift hill.
  11. Thunderhawk should lose its seat belts, headrest, and trim brake.
  12. Waves need to be re-added (and actually work) in WildWater River.
  13. The geysers need to be fixed in WildWater River.

The lazy rivers in general need to be completely refurbished. There are so many standstill spots in both of them.

I did the one lazy river whose entrance is closer to the racing slide (i dont do WWK much, can you tell?) and i agree, at one point I even started going backwards. Needs fixing.

Hydras trains need new cushioning if they didnt get it already.

Wildwater River in particular does this because it was designed for the waves to push riders along.

A few other items that need improvement.
  • The whip's brass pieces need polishing.
  • FunTv could be added to Thunder Canyon.
  • FunTv needs to play some less obscure music videos. Perhaps something like Owl City.
  • Hydra's second train defiantly is overdue for new padding.
  • Hydra should get a working second camera again.
  • Thunder Creek Mountain should be given its photo booth back, although the photo booth should only be operated on hot busy days.

Another improvement that I will be very happy to see is smoke blowing out of Hydra's nose year round. Does anyone know if the park modified the sign, or did they just never bother using the feature before?

They used to have it running more often when the ride first opened.
