Dorney Park 2016

Has anybody heard any rumors for the park for 2016? Screamscape said the park could be getting a new coaster or other major attraction, but I have not seen any evidence unless somebody on here knows more.

Well roller coaster wise here is a list of Cedar Fairs parks with the years they built a coaster:

Great America 13
Canadas Wonderland 14, 12, 08
Carowinds 15, 10
Cedar Point 16, 13, 07
Dorney Park 12, 08, 05
Kings Dominion 10, 08
Kings Island 14, 09, 07
Knotts 16, 13, 08
Michigans Adventure 08, 99
Valleyfair 11 (kiddie coaster), 07, 03
Worlds of Fun 09, 06, 04

So its seems unlikely BUT if Cedar Fair does decide to build three coasters I think Dorney's only competition is Worlds of Fun since Valleyfair is rumored to get a waterpark expansion and Michigan's Adventure, is well, Michigan's Adventure.

Nothing big, or it would have been announced already. Probably new trash cans and a ride removal.

Well, from what I've heard from various employees and seen throughout the park, Cedar Fair is very disappointed with the performance of Dorney Park. Next season, I'd expect an all new management team, or a for sale sign.

I've got to think someone other than Cedar Point is getting a coaster and the more non-coaster announcements made should be good signs for Dorney!

My only concern is the primary focus on Haunt being the reason for the delay and not that they are saving the coaster announcements for last?

The Morning Call reports that Carolyn McLean (Vice President Corporate Communications & PR, Cedar Fair Entertainment) says we should expect an announcement sometime in September. Here is the article. http://www.mcall.com/business/mc-dorney-park-parent-reports-earnings-20150804-story.html

Quite seriously, most seasonal employees know nothing about the parks finances, and the few that do, don't talk.

By disappointed with the performance of Dorney Park, I don't mean as much in finances as I do in the general operation of the park.

Employees I've talked to reported that two very high ranking members of management were fired for no apparent reason, and they have noticed a stronger corporate presence in the past few weeks (by corporate people, they mean important looking people with Cedar Fair suits I assume). You could argue that the extra attention Dorney is receiving could mean good things to come, but it seems as though they are keeping an eye on the park because of its poor operational performance, just my take though.

It seems to be running better this year. The few times I have walked past it this year there has been no line but that was the case with all the coasters except Wild Mouse.

Well, thats why they call it: Stinker - no one wants to ride it I guess.

Actually it was probably a good year to have a pass. From what I hear attendance is down and there were no long waits at the coasters. The mouse is a long wait even if 5 people are in line so you can't count that.

I was suppose to come out this year...I have 2 tickets but they expired on the Sept 7th before I could use them...I doubt the park will except them even though I got them by donating to Charity...I should have got out sooner...where did the summer go?

Well part of 2016 plans emerge to tear out the Speedway and build new catering facilities.

Wonder what they want to put in Food Fest Grove?

With only two pavilions planned to be built along the lake, I do not think it would be big enough to replace Food Fest Grove. However Carousel Grove sits on prime real-state and needs a upgraded food preparation area.
It will be interesting to see how the park plans on fitting in the pavilions around Steel Force.
I wonder what the pump building would be for?
